Does changing DPI change image quality?
No. DPI is just a print-density hint stored in the file header — the pixels stay identical. It tells printers how large to render the image on paper.
Why do forms ask for 300 DPI?
Many government and printing forms validate the DPI header field. This tool writes it directly into the JFIF header (JPEG) or pHYs chunk (PNG) in your browser.
